Welcome at Mas Taillet

Welcome to the Mas Taille website.

Holiday in the Pyrenees mountains and close to the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, this is possible at Mas Taillet. It is a wonderfully quiet place and is located near the cozy fortified town of Prats de Mollo. Mas Taillet is a many centuries old farmhouse but has all the modern comforts. There are several vacation homes on the property. In the big house, la maison de Xatart, 8 people can easily find a place. The studio Le Camelia, located in the old servantshouse, is an attractive studio for 2 people. And for those who want to be spoiled in the morning with a nice breakfast, we have the chambre d’hôte, the guest room. Each has a private terrace and there is a beautiful view of the mountains all around.

Hospitable and familiar

The dutch owners and permanent residents of Mas Taillet are Ron Vos and Dick Blancke. They have been living in southern France since 2001. Over ten years, Mas Taillet has been renovated and made suitable as a holiday home. Ron and Dick know the area well and will be more than happy to advice and assist you to ensure your vacation is as pleasurable as possible.

And there is a lot to do in the area

You can walk for an hour in the fields around the house, crossed with paths and streams. Or spend a whole day exploring the mountains. You can make trips to ancient churches, monasteries and other historical buildings. And in a quarter of an hour you walk to a great fortress, Fort Lagarde, just next to our property. In the summer they do animated vists, to demonstrate militairy live in the XVII century. The beaches of the Mediterranean can be reached in one hour and the art lovers can visit the Spanish town Figuères, for the Salvador Dali Museum or the Museum of Modern Art in Ceret. Mas Taillet is close to the Spanish border and so many lovely and interesting trips to Spain can be made. But every time you come back to Mas Taillet you can relax on the terrace or by the pool. Or you can sleep and dream in good beds in the spacious rooms. Every day you make a new fresh start with a croissant and a fresh egg from our chickens.

Space enough for everyone.

You must share this spot with our dogs, a Jack Russel terrier and two younger and bigger dogs,  a cat and five donkeys. And some chickens in the run which produce nice fresh eggs. A total of 12 guests can stay at Mas Taillet, but on the 117 Acres of private land around the house there is plenty of space for everyone, to find a quiet place.
